At rootberry we believe in the universal truth, “from the roots come the fruits.” It’s true in life, love, and food. It means we make a daily effort to plant seeds, some of which will take root, and one day, bear great fruit.

We live it by crafting fresh, flavorful and convenient plant-based food.

We do it because more people eating more plants more often makes the world a healthier, happier place.

Why should you eat more plants? Because eating more plants just makes you feel better – physically, mentally and emotionally. The health benefits of plant-based eating are life changing and can be life-extending. But don’t take it from us, here’s what the research says:

One more serving of produce per day can reduce 20,000 cancer deaths annually. (CDC) That’s a lot a bang for your broccoli.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. It can also keep the pounds away and help you maintain a healthier weight over time. Natural fiber,which is found only in plant based foods, like apples, provides fullness and satisfaction and aids in digestion. Fiber can also lower your risk of diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers; foster healthier gut bacteria; provide an all-natural detox; make you live longer; and help you be more, well, regular.

High Nutrient Density is a characteristic of many plant based foods. Nutrient dense foods are high in nutrients and low in calories. They contain vitamins, minerals, complex carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fat. At the end of the day, all that nutrition leaves little room for highly-processed, unhealthy foods. This is one of the reasons that vegans have the lowest BMI of any dietary group.

Protein is a macronutrient our body uses for energy. Tofu, beans, nuts, grains, veggies, and just about everything in a plant based diet gives you all the protein you need without the health risks that come with animal protein.
