Something About Terri
Something About Terri…..Native St. Louisan and proud U-Citian I am the one
named Terri P. Walker-Jordan but I happily answer to Chef Terri Jayne or T.J.! I
am also a ten year plus Naval Veteran who has ALWAYS been fascinated with
travel, FOOD, history and culture. Our abilities as humans to cook and season
our food, the etymology of foods, food/recipe origin and it's cultural contribution
to our global civilizations' progress, have all served as the flickering flames that
ignite my passion for all things culinary. After high school my budding wanderlust
led me to initially forgo college and jump feet first into my first career as a sailor
which, allowed me to travel and reside overseas on the island of Puerto Rico and
in the city of Gaeta,Italy! Both locations were cornucopias of fresh fruits and
vegetables with vibrant colors, rich and fertile soil, fresh seafood, seaside soaked
air and rustic culinary aromas wafting from all directions. Both locations also
influenced my sense of purpose: create feel good
food with positive energy, love, passion and fresh
quality ingredients with absolute devotion and
integrity.
Present day, I churn and burn all in the name
of love & bringing delicious foods for the masses. I
cook for that WOW factor in folks faces after their
first bite of one of my creations. I consider my style or cuisine "specialty" as
"Global Fusion" which runs the gamut of the following: Mexican, French, Latin,
Italian, Chinese, Mediterranean, Indian, West African, Caribbean (Cuban/
Jamaican/Puerto Rican,etc), Middle Eastern, Asian (Thai/Japanese/
Chinese/Korean etc),North African, Latin, Kosher, American Regional (ex: So
Cal and Floribbean), European (German/Spanish/Irish/French, etc), Halal, Neo
Soul Food, Polynesian...GLOBAL!
